World of Warcraft next expansion finally revealed: Dragonflight
Blizzard EntertainmentBlizzard has announced the next World of Warcraft expansion after Shadowlands, and just as leaks indicated it will be taking players back to Azeroth and finally unlock the Dragon Isles.
While WoW players have been hard at work in Shadowlands: Eternity’s End since the patch on February 22, 2022 – the question of what’s next for the franchise has been constantly floating around.
On April 19 we finally got our answer, as devs revealed the next WoW expansion would be taking players back to Azeroth with a new dragon zone, and a new dragon race and class.
WoW devs officially reveal Dragonflight expansion
After months of leaks and speculation, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight was finally revealed with a brand new cinematic trailer.
Just as the name suggests, it’s all about dragons and dragonkin.
With the rest of Azeroth being literally torn asunder, the various dragonflights left the Dragon Isles and entrusted them to stone sentinels known as The Watchers.
So why haven’t we seen the Dragon Isles until now? Well, according to lore in the cinematic they’ve basically been under a cloaking device until now, finally unlocked for the new expansion.
But the story is only part of what’s coming with Dragonflight. There’s a new Dragon race and class, custom Dragon flying mounts, reworks to talents, professions, and much, much more.
Professions are getting a major revamp, with players being given the ability to make crafting orders for items they might have the mats for, but aren’t able to make themselves.
By posting the order and offering a commission, players will be able to skip the tedious task of trolling trade chat looking for someone who can help them.
There are also massive changes to the talent tree system, and a brand new dragon race and class to explore. We’ll have more info on everything coming in our official Dragonflight hub.
We still don’t know the exact release date for Dragonflight, but devs did say it would come out sometime in 2022, so the good news is we don’t have long to wait.
