MircosoftAn Xbox fan jumped the gun in their reaction to the rumors about their console’s exclusives going multiplatform, and now social media is putting them on blast.
Rumors about Xbox’s exclusives being made multiplatform for the PS5 and more have been circulating for a the last couple of weeks.
One fan was so concerned about these rumors, they went out and sold their entire Xbox Series X collection.
However, these rumors were not completely true, and now the Xbox player who sold everything is now being blasted on social media.
Xbox player sold Series X collection after rumors, and social media is having a field day
The Xbox fan posted their sale on X, explaining how everything they had for their Series X, including the console, is gone:
“Annnnnnd it’s done, bye bye Series X. They don’t accept the storage device at GameStop sadly so I have a literal paperweight now, but I got UFC 5 for my PS5 and $300 worth of steam cards. So long Xbox, it was a good run.”
This was in response to the recent rumors that the Microsoft gaming console was going to give its exclusives to other consoles.
Unfortunately for the player, this turned out to not be true, as the company announced that while there was a small handful of games that would be going multiplatform, the biggest exclusives would stay as such.
Because of this, social media is not holding back on their jokes about this Xbox fan jumping the gun in a big way.
“He’s gone a bit quiet after that tweet,” is one comment made in response.

One other user points out how the original poster has the X post pinned to their profile, making the entire thing even more susceptible to mockery.
There are plenty of people, though, that are defending the decision, with one user saying: “It was stupid to begin with, but Xbox did just lose 4 exclusives to their rivals and will be losing more.”

While there are plenty of people who view Xbox as on the decline with the recent news, it is also clear that the change is not as severe as many thought it to be.
