Helldivers 2: How to get Medals fast
Arrowhead Game StudiosMedals in Helldivers 2 are used to upgrade weapons and armor and access new cosmetics and the game’s Warbonds. However, farming them can be grueling, so here’s how to get medals fast in Helldivers 2.
There are a few different types of rewards available in Helldivers 2 – such as Samples, Super Credits, and Medals – which are used as in-game currency.
While some like Super Credits can be bought with real-world money, Medals are earned by completing missions, and due to them being one of the primary ways for players to unlock weapons and armor upgrades, they are worth farming. So, here are all the ways to get Medals fast in Helldivers 2.
Complete Daily Personal Order Challenges
Personal Order Challenges are the daily objectives in Helldivers 2. Players can see their Personal Order Challenges on the right-hand side of the menu by hitting Z or escape to pull up the game menu.
To keep daily tasks interesting, Personal Order Challenges rotate regularly, and completing each of them nets a player 15 Medals.
Complete missions on Suicide Mission, Impossible, or Helldive difficulty levels
Completing missions on higher difficulty levels is another simple way to increase Medal payouts, and if the missions are all part of the same operation, the amount of Medals rewarded increases too.
For the best returns, players should aim to complete missions at the Suicide Mission difficulty level. A successful mission at this level earns 6 medals. If there happen to be more missions in the operation, completing the second one will net 8 medals. Successful completion of any third mission in the operation will reward players with 10 Medals.
Suicide Mission presents a mid to high-level encounter for players, while Helldive is the hardest difficulty level in Helldivers 2. Missions on the Helldive level provide a tough challenge, however, they reward the most Medals of any difficulty available.
Complete Eradication missions
Eradication missions are much shorter than a regular 40-minute mission. These missions will require players to eliminate a specific number of enemies within the 12-minute timer. There won’t be any loot like Samples or Super Credits up for grabs, but they’ll reward Medals like a regular mission.
Seeing as Players can complete these in 12 minutes, it makes them a solid option for farming.
Look for Drop Ships
Loot beams from drop ships are a point of interest players can explore while on missions for extra loot.
These areas are usually easy to spot, as they’re marked on the map by a yellow beacon of light that shines from the base of the ship. Loot from drop ships is random, but players should earn a decent chunk of extra medals if they stray off the beaten path to explore these areas.
Drop ships will often have some lower mobs to farm through, and an elite enemy to bring down, but they also have a chance to drop Super Credits, making them worth the challenge.
Explore the map for containers
Aside from drop ships, containers are another point of interest on the map worth investigating. Both in and out of missions, players can search the map for cargo containers. These will be half-buried in the ground with explosive barrels nearby.
Players can fire at the barrels or use a grenade to break into the container. On top of Medals, containers can also drop weapons and extra ammo, as well as more valuable loot like Samples, Requisition Slips, and even Super Credits.
Break into bunkers with a friend
Players can find bunkers scattered throughout the terrain. To find them check tight spots and crevices, and areas below ground, as bunkers tend to be well hidden. Bunkers will have doors with a blue light beam around the edges and two access keypads.
Opening a bunker will require coordination with at least one other party member, as both players will need to use the keypads at the same time to open the doors.
While bunkers tend to only drop 2 or 3 medals, there are bunkers pretty much everywhere if players are willing to look, which makes them very handy for adding some extra Medals to the final mission rewards.
The only catch to this farming method is players will have to bring a friend.
