Helldivers 2 player reveals “new hugging strategy” using Shield Generator Pack
Arrowhead Game StudiosOne Helldivers 2 player uncovered a so-called “new hugging strategy” that can safeguard allies against devastating attacks with the hug emote.
Supply Stratagem, the Shield Generator Pack, can be unlocked once players reach Level 20 in Helldivers 2. As the name suggests, the stratagem surrounds the user in a shield capable of blocking even the most powerful projectiles.
Players have also learned that the Shield Generator can be a lifesaver when facing off against Charger enemies.
Better yet, one person has discovered the shield can work wonders for two Divers at once. The trick is that such a tactic requires players to engage in a friendly hug.
Helldivers 2 “hugging strategy” can protect two soldiers at once
YouTuber StandardAce recently uploaded a video walking fellow Helldivers players through a new “overpowered” strategy. The video revolves around the Shield Generator Pack, specifically its various uses outside of merely protecting the wearer.
As StandardAce demonstrates, one such strategy involves the user luring several enemies near them, calling down a 500kg bomb, and then activating the shield to negate incoming damage.
The second, more wholesome, Helldivers 2 strategy centers on the power of a good hug. In a text overlay, the content creator explains: “You can even protect allies with your own shield by hug emoting with them just before detonation.” See it all in action in the video linked below:
Who knew a hugging strategy would be the key to staving off high-powered projectiles in Helldivers 2? As one person in the comments put it, “hugging your teammates to protect them is the sweetest thing.”
Others think the trick’s so neat that they hope developers won’t patch it out in future updates. Reads one such response, “God that’s so bad a**. I assume it’s unintentional but it makes sense. It doesn’t look too op with it being so situational. Hopefully, it isn’t patched.”
Here’s to hoping this particular Helldivers 2 tactic continues to safeguard allies and democracy for a long time to come.
