As talks of the best “meta” build in Helldivers 2 begin to spread, the game’s community speaks out on how this build really isn’t that good.

With the array of weapons and tools at players’ disposal in Helldivers 2, it makes sense that people would begin hunting down the best combinations to be successful.

This is how the recent conversations regarding what the game’s meta build is began, and why they are continuing to gain traction.

However, as this build begins to emerge, the Helldivers 2 community is speaking out on how it actually isn’t all that spectacular.

Helldivers 2 fans argue against perceived meta build

Conversations can be found all over social media as players continue to discuss what is the most viable loadout to run in Helldivers 2.

As of now, the core of the meta build that most people see as the best is to equip the SG-225 Breaker shotgun as a primary and then the RS-422 Railgun as the support weapon.

However, many are speaking out against this loadout, saying that this build wouldn’t do very well against swarms of Terminids, especially at higher difficulty levels.

One user on X explains that: “If everyone followed the ‘meta’ advice you would get overwhelmed.”

Other players are pointing to some other weapons that stand out from the Breaker and the Railgun. For example, the Autocannon is known for being able to effectively clear groups of Automatons.

Helldivers 2 fans have also begun to focus on the Orbital Laser Stratagem that usually comes along with the meta build, but they warn how this orbital strike only comes with three charges, making it more of a pain than anything else.

Overall, the general consensus is that the game is not competitive and trying to focus on a meta is ruining the point entirely. As one X fan says, “Call of Duty folks need to back off our game.”

Even with the meta conversation heating up, it is clear that the Helldivers 2 community may not want this line of thinking to become the norm.
