Helldivers 2 players call for raid bosses & increased squad sizes

The Helldivers 2 community wants the devs to add raid mechanics to the game, featuring bigger party sizes, big bosses, and more teamwork than ever before.

Raids have always been a popular mechanic in multiplayer games, particularly in PVE titles where players can rally together for a single objective. Helldivers 2 already has a strong emphasis on teamwork, with players around the world desperately trying to liberate planets from the clutches of the Terminids and Automatons.

While Malevelon Creek may have fallen into enemy hands, the game’s community is still prepared to do whatever it takes to liberate the galaxy. In fact, many players want to take their teamwork to the next level and squad up with even more troopers in their pursuit of freedom.

“That is one of my biggest dreams for this game. Idk how they could get it done but dammit an 8 player raid taking on giant bosses together is just too damn amazing to pass up on my wishlist.”

As for how it would work, one player came up with a way that would enable two different squads to function together for the greater good of Super Earth. “It would be great to work as two independent 4-man fireteams that work on different sub-objectives for some of the missions and then focus on a single major objective at the end of the end.”

While the devs have stressed that PVP will never be coming to Helldivers 2, the game’s community has outlined a way that would enable troopers to compete against one another. I’d also enjoy a competitive scoring type mode where two teams of 4 are co-op doing the same type of mission, but kills, side objectives, time taken and lives left are scored and the more effective team gets some sort of modest reward,” replied another Helldiver.

“Maybe a slight bump to XP or even just some sort of visual flair, like a medal sort of thing, that can go on your in-game profile card. That would be neat and add some extra variety.”

Whether the devs will add raid mechanics to Helldivers 2 remains to be seen, but for now, it looks like the next update will finally add mechs to the game and more exciting Strategems.
