Helldivers 2 players convinced powerful weapon was secretly nerfed

The Helldivers 2 community is up in arms after they believe a powerful weapon was secretly nerfed this week.

Helldivers 2 has seen a few obstacles pop up since its launch a couple weeks ago, including server issues and balancing needs.

As such, the devs have had to work hard to implement the changes they need to get the game where they want it to be.

However, one of these changes might have been done in secret to nerf a powerful weapon, and the community is not happy about it.

The conversation first appeared on the Helldivers 2 Steam message boards, where a player theorized that the Railgun was secretly nerfed yesterday.

“Railgun no longer seems to be 2-shotting Bile Titans as of yesterday. None of my groups are able to do it anymore… I went from wrecking these things all week to them requiring 7-10 hits overnight.”

They also mention how the users over on the Helldivers 2 Discord server are proposing the same thing.

In response, many other users are convinced of the same thing, saying that the damage they can deal with the Railgun appears to be significantly lessened.

Many are upset that this had effectively removed a strategy for solo players to be able to take on the more powerful enemies in the game.

“The never ending nerfs for this game is already getting tiresome. The railgun strat was a great concept before they went and broke it. The rail gun was already difficult to obtain. Did it need to 2 shot a ‘boss’ level creature? Yes, in fact it did. That is the entire point of the gun.”

But not everyone is upset about the change, as these Helldivers 2 fans believe it will increase the need to actually use strategy in the game.

These players are not holding back in their sentiment either, with one user saying: “… you mean we actually have to play proper instead than with that beyond cracked weapon which was the answer to everything?”

These kinds of changes will always cause some kind of controversy in the community of a game, and Helldivers 2 is going to have a lot of that as the devs continue to tweak the game.
