After weeks of intense fighting, Helldivers 2 players have been left devastated after finally losing Malevelon Creek to the Automatons.

Helldivers 2 is known for its intense PVE firefights as players from around the world band together to spread democracy and liberate Super Earth. The game has quickly become one of the most popular games of 2024, with the devs having to increase server capacity to meet demands

Sadly, despite the game’s huge playerbase and collective effort, one iconic planet has fallen into enemy hands – Malevelon Creek. This atmospheric jungle planet is located within the Severin Sector, and is one of the most dangerous systems in the galaxy.

In fact, no planet has continually spread as much fear, memes, and hilarious videos as Malevelon Creek. Well, it now looks like players will need to try to liberate it from the Automaton’s clutches in the near future.

Malevelon Creek falls to enemy hands after weeks of fighting

Malevelon Creek is known for its extreme difficulty, with many Helldivers losing their lives amongst the dark and dense foliage. Spotting friend from foe and just surviving in general is known to be insanely difficult. So, it’s no surprise then that the game’s community has struggled to fight back the Automaton threat that occupies this blood-soaked jungle.

Unfortunately, Malevelon Creek finally fell into enemy hands, and the news of this failure has been met with an outpour of community anguish. Many Helldivers 2 players have taken to social media to post memes about Malevelon Creek’s fall, with troopers remaining hopeful that one day the planet will be liberated in the near future.

“Don’t worry, Brother. We shall rally again and for every single diver killed – we will return destruction a hundredfold,” commented one player. Others explained why they believe Malevelon Creek fell in the first place.

“We lost Creek because people screwed the pooch on Draup, not because Mort was defended,” explained one player. “Creek was doomed from the start by ignoring the big picture and letting it get cut off.”

Many commenters were also keen to highlight how comedic the fall was, with one Redditor noting how work often gets in the way of their liberation duties. “This is what happens when I do things like ‘go to work’ instead of spreading Managed Democracy.”

This loss won’t come as a surprise to most Helldivers 2 troopers, but hopefully, the planet will one day fall into the citizens of Super Earth’s control.
