Queen of Tears actor reveals Kim Ji-won’s “endearing” habit on set

The cast of Queen of Tears is spilling details on what it’s like to work with each other, with actor Park Sung-hoon having heart eyes for Kim Ji-won’s charming habit on set.

The Netflix and tvN K-drama has fans excited for its portrayal of a re-blossing love story between a married couple. Kim Ji-won stars as Hong Hae-in, a chaebol heir of Queen’s Group known for her cold exterior.

Her marriage reaches a rocky point that either leads to disaster or romantic rediscovery. Per the trailer, the character of Hae-in is someone to be feared and avoid when in her path. Fans are eager to see Kim excel in the role while displaying her years of acting credibility.

But actor Park Sung-hoon had nothing but kind words for Kim compared to her on-screen persona, and her habit on set in a Dexerto exclusive interview.

Kim Ji-won gets praise from her co-star

Queen of Tears star Park Sung-hoon details why he joined the K-drama and how Kim Ji-won is absolutely “perfect” and loved bringing snacks and treats to set.

Actor Park was the last to be cast for the K-drama in the role of Yoon Eun-seong. The character is a former Wall Street investor and M&A expert. He returns to Korea and begins to form a relationship with the Queen’s group family.

Per the official trailer, he arrives as Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) contemplates divorcing Hae-in. Eun-seong will see a chance to intervene and snatch away Hae-in, possibly leading to sizzling jealousy.

When it came to joining the K-drama and working with his co-stars, Park praised both lead actors. He was overjoyed to learn why Kim Soo-hyun is “such a sought-after lead actor in the industry” and how he kept a relaxed environment on set.

But when it came to praising Kim Ji-won, he not only saw her perfection but also revealed one of her habits that he found particularly charming.

“As for Ji-won, she is so perfect that I cannot think of any flaws in her. She does have a habit that
I found quite amusing and endearing, though—she would always bring snacks to the set. She
would always snack and share her treats with the staff and crew. I thought she was very kind,” said the actor.

Kim has played a variety of roles in her career. She starred in a friend-to-lovers K-drama Fight My Way seen as a staple in the romance genre. Her recent claim to fame was her emotional portrayal in the Slice of Life K-drama My Liberation Notes.

K-drama fans will remember actor Park for another K-drama before joining Queen of Tears. He starred as the central villain in Netflix’s global hit The Glory. His most recent roles have been in Not Others and The Bequethed. He joined the cast of Queen of Tears for writer Park Ji-eun, whose last successful K-drama was none other than Crash Landing on You. Queen of Tears marks her official return from hiatus.
