Perkz reveals genius ‘plan’ to sabotage Doinb ahead of LoL Worlds final

Just days out from the League of Legends World Championship grand final, G2 Esports superstar Luka ‘Perkz’ Perkovic has revealed a devious plan to sabotage FunPlus Phoenix’s “super carry” mid laner Kim ‘Doinb’ Tae-sang.

G2 and FPX are set to clash on Sunday afternoon at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, with the Summoner’s Cup — and the world title that comes with it — as the major prize on offer.

There may be a few pre-game mind games already occurring at the team hotel, however, after Perkz discovered that he’d been put in a room right next to Doinb in the lead-up to the Worlds title decider, and revealed he had the perfect plan to sabotage the Korean star.

G2’s captain Perkz has kept his lighthearted attitude ahead of the Worlds final.

Considering they were so close together, the Croatian bot laner said he was planning on setting a timer for every hour, and going to knock on his rival’s door every 60 minutes so that neither of them slept, leaving them to rely on the rest of their teams in the final.

“My hotel room is literally next to Doinb. Do I knock on his door every hour on game day night and we both don’t sleep, see who wins?” Perkz asked, laying out his nefarious plan for his fans.

Funnily enough, Doinb didn’t back down from the midnight-torture Perkz had suggested for his fans, and said that he would be streaming instead of sleeping anyway.

“All my fans in China know I stay up late for streaming and they know I dance all night long,” FPX’s ‘Super Carry’ hit back, and said he thought he could outlast Perkz in the potential psychological warfare on Saturday evening.

Continuing the joke, Doinb sent Perkz a video that proved, once and for all, that he would be up dancing and enjoying himself ahead of the grand final in Paris. It even seemed like he might be calling the G2 star out, and suggesting he wouldn’t go through with his plan.

Perkz’s sabotage plan isn’t the only trash talk G2 has been piling on ahead of their showdown against FPX either, with the European team joking after their 3-1 victory over SKT that they were in the market to signing Doinb for another role swap shock in 2020.

Caps revealed to media at the semifinals press conference that the team was “in the process of picking up Doinb” in a similar move to when Carlos ‘Carlos’ Rodríguez Santiago lured the former Fnatic mid laner to G2 by sending Perkz to the bot lane.

It was a joke that Carlos continued, pretending to confirm that the team was already in negotiations for the South Korean superstar. The joke soon moved to social media, where LEC and international fans embraced the potential swap, adding to the mind games.

Doinb seemed to win the pre-match mind games with his hilarious dance video.

While it’s unlikely that G2 is actually moving to sign FPX’s star player, they do still have a massive decider to play in this weekend — one that will crown a new world champion, no matter who secures victory in the tournament’s last best-of-five in Paris.

If G2 wins, however, they will make history as the first team in League of Legends to claim the calendar grand slam with their two European Championship titles, and their victory at the Mid-Season Invitational in May. FPX, of course, is looking to stop them.

The grand final coverage is set to begin from 1pm CET on November 10, with new Riot music group True Damage and other musical acts expected to make up the Opening Ceremony, before G2 and FPX clash for the right to lift the Summoner’s Cup soon after.
