US Congressional Candidate reveals she is a big League of Legends fan
Washington PostAlexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is running for Congress in New York, has confirmed that she is a fan of popular MOBA League of Legends.
The Democratic candidate has been on the campaign trail since May 2017, and recently secured victory in her primary election in New York’s 14th Congressional District. However, in a tweet posted recently, the politician announced that she was intending to make her return to Summoner’s Rift.
“Dusting off my League account, which hasn’t been touched since the campaign started, Bronze V, here we come,” tweeted Ocasio-Cortez.
The Democrat clearly wasn’t hopeful about her chances, as Bronze V is the lowest rank for players in League of Legends. In a game that is constantly evolving, with new metas regularly taking over LoL, it’s no surprise that she feels like she will need some practice to move back up the ranks on a title she hasn’t played in 17 months.
Riot Games’ Director of Insights Davin Pavlas asked Ocasio-Cortez what characters she mainly played, with Alexandria responding that she played Morgana, Lux and Miss Fortune, and is currently working on becoming comfortable with Anivia.

I’m pretty bad at it so let’s temper our expectations here

Ocasio-Cortez made sure to reiterate that she wasn’t that good at the game, replying: “I’m pretty bad at it so let’s temper our expectations here.”
Unfortunately, it seems that Ocasio-Cortez will have to put her League account back on the shelf for the time being, as she prepares to face Republican nominee Anthony Pappas in the November 6 general election.
