Retired LEGO Ideas Yellow Submarine in stock but it comes at a price
LEGOAlthough retired since 2017, the LEGO Ideas Yellow Submarine is still in stock at Amazon. It comes at a price, though. Here’s what you can expect.
“Can’t buy me love…” You know the iconic The Beatles song from their 1964 hit album A Hard Day’s Night. Singing along to this earworm yet?
However, although you can’t buy love, the LEGO Ideas Yellow Submarine is sure to warm the heart of the Beatles fan you have your eye on. Of course, you can always grab this brick-built submarine for yourself.
This LEGO Ideas kit is sure to look great next to your The Beatles Yellow Submarine vinyl record and The Beatles memorabilia. In addition, it won’t look out of place when displayed among your collection of music-inspired LEGO sets.
Unfortunately, this LEGO Ideas kit was discontinued in 2017. However, fortunately for fans of the Fab Four, there are still a few examples available at Amazon. It comes at a price, though.
Indeed, when released in 2016, the LEGO Ideas Yellow Submarine would set you back $60. However, like several other already-retired LEGO kits — such as the LEGO Star Wars Y-Wing Starfighter, which is still available at Amazon — has seen a significant price increase, especially when they are unbuilt and their bricks still safely tucked away in the box.
The premium at which these sets are offered is due to their rarity and, of course, how collectible they are. Having been in circulation for only a year, the LEGO Ideas Yellow Submarine is undoubtedly rare, which makes it a sure-fire collectible.

But how much has this kit’s price increased since it was discontinued? In short, around 300%. There are, however, a few that have been discounted.
So, what can you expect from this set? For starters, it comprises 553 bricks, each of which clicks together to create a LEGO replica of the iconic Yellow Submarine from the 1968 musical fantasy film Yellow Submarine.
This kit is sure to provide a rewarding and nostalgic building experience for The Beatles fans (while you listen to the Fab Four’s tunes, of course). The completed model measures five inches tall, two inches wide, and nine inches bow to stern.
Although not so large, the set still features a range of authentic details. There is a quartet of rotating periscopes, a duo of rotating propellers, and an adjustable rudder. The top can also be removed to reveal the cockpit, which has space for the minifigures included with this kit.
Minifigures, you say? The whole band is there: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Jeremy is also present. Several accessories — such as John’s telescope and Paul’s 1×2 Love tile — are also included, as is a display stand for the minifigures.
