Retired LEGO Marvel Attack on Avengers Tower in stock with a catch
LEGOAmazon still has stock of the retired LEGO Marvel Attack on Avengers Tower from 2015. It comes at a premium, though. Here’s what you can expect.
LEGO bricks are worth their weight in gold. Well, to be precise, the discontinued LEGO kits, especially. In fact, according to a study published in Research in International Business and Finance in 2022, the value increase of LEGO sets between the late 1980s and 2015 outperformed stocks, bonds, and even gold.
Take, for example, the LEGO Ideas Yellow Submarine and LEGO DC 1989 Batmobile. Each of these discontinued sets is still in stock at certain stores. You’ll pay a premium, though.
Indeed, the values of the brick-built Batmobile and The Beatles-inspired LEGO Ideas model have increased by around 120% and a whopping 300%, respectively. Talk about a return on investment. Yup, LEGO has become an investment.
Now, another retired LEGO set has become available at Amazon, and it comes in the shape of the LEGO Marvel Attack on Avengers Tower. You’ll have to be quick, though. There aren’t many examples left in stock.
LEGO Marvel Attack on Avengers Tower still available at Amazon but it comes at a price
Introduced in 2015, this LEGO recreation of an iconic scene from the Marvel Universe was discontinued following a lifespan of 20 months. As such, it’s been off the shelves for nearly eight years.
In addition, as it hasn’t been around for quite some time, its rarity and, as a result, value have increased. Significantly.
When the LEGO Marvel Attack on Avengers Tower made its debut, it cost a hair below $60. Now, however, you can expect to pay a premium of around 300% on the original price.
But what can you expect from this LEGO Marvel model? Well, to be mistaken for the currently-available LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower, this kit was designed for young Marvel fans between seven- and 14 years old.
The set comprises 515 pieces, each clicking together to create a brick-built replica of the Avengers’ headquarters. The completed build stands 14 inches tall, seven inches wide, and four inches deep. Although not as impressive as the LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower, it is sure to make for a great display piece.
However, featuring a host of minifigures and neat elements, such as stud shooters and a JARVIS control room, this set also allows you to relive the battle action when the Avengers Tower came under attack by Ultron. Minifigures include Iron Man, Thor, Ultron Mark 1, and a duo of Iron Legions. An array of accessories are also present.
