Marvel Rivals has quickly become a huge success, drawing tens of millions of players in the early outings. But what’s the all-time player count peak and how many concurrents are still jumping in daily? Here’s a comprehensive look.

After months of anticipation, Marvel Rivals finally went live on December 6, 2024, and instantly set the hero shooter genre ablaze.

Thanks to a stacked roster upon release, competitive support, tons of skins, and the allure of plenty more just around the corner, players were hooked and haven’t looked back since.

Now that Season 1 is in focus, it’s only continuing to grow in popularity with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

How many people are playing Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals player count

Marvel Rivals hit an all-time concurrent player count peak of 644,269 on January 10, 2025 when Season 1 launched.

Previously, the game was tracking between 300,000-450,000 concurrent players per day, but has since climbed a great deal more amid the hype for the latest season.

With the entire Fantastic Four joining the roster, new maps and modes spicing things up, and an array of balance changes too, it’s been a resounding success for the major update.

At the time of writing, over 500,000 concurrent players are still active on Steam, though it’s worth noting this is far from the full scope of the game’s popularity. Given millions more are engaged on console, these numbers are just a fraction of the overall player count.

While the peak player count is certainly impressive to begin with, the multiplayer shooter quickly reached 10 million players worldwide across all platforms. It achieved this milestone just 72 hours after servers went live.

Nine days later, that milestone doubled as Marvel Rivals went on to record a whopping 20 million unique players by December 18.

While the game is still quite fresh, Marvel Rivals has already surpassed some of Steam’s most popular titles, such as Dota 2, Call of Duty, and PUBG, in terms of the most played games at this very moment.

Overall, Marvel Rivals is off to a strong start, with many people jumping on the game right away. One thing that makes it stand out is how the Battle Pass system is friendly to casual players, allowing you to claim the rewards in future seasons once you buy it.

Now, if you’re thinking of trying out the game after seeing the player count, you’ll want to make sure to familiarize yourself with our character tier list so you know the strongest picks.
