Marvel Rivals has plenty of different rewards to keep players excited and allow them to show off their skills in battle, like Lord icons.
There are multiple ways to prove your power in a game like Marvel Rivals, whether that’s being MVP, SVP, or just constantly dealing the most damage, healing, or tanking the most hits. However, your power isn’t only recognized in the stats, as skilled players can level up their characters, receiving rewards, unique rankings, and certain Icons.
One such ranking is Lord which happens to refer to both a Proficiency level and an icon. As such, this overall system can be quite confusing, so here’s everything you need to know about it.
How to unlock
Players will have to grind games and complete proficiency milestones using a character to reach the Lord rank. Upon reaching this Proficiency, they will unlock the special icon for that character.
However, the way this works is different for each character. For example, a Duelist would have to deal a certain amount of damage, while a Strategist is more focused on dishing out healing and assisting allies. It all depends on the hero, and there are multiple ones players can complete.

What are Lord Icons?
Essentially, Lord icons are avatars that replace the normal icon for your hero on the scoreboard. Unlike the traditional look, the Lord designs are more vibrant and have different angles, making them stand out.
Unfortunately, the icon doesn’t give you any advantages during battle, but it will make you look a little more formidable to the enemy team.
How to get all Lord Icons
To get hold of the avatars, you’ll need to level up your character, as explained above. However, to do this you need to complete proficiency challenges.

These are all similar to each other, with the only difference being surrounding the different roles. For the most part, they’ll look like this:
- Play as the hero for 60 minutes
- Block damage / heal health / deal damage
- Earn KOs / KOs and assists / final hits
- Use that character’s special ability a set number of times
How to rank up fast
The easiest way to reach Lord is to play heroes you’re comfortable with. If you’re the type to play it safe by dealing damage in the backline, you’ll most likely love Hawkeye or Black Widow.
Meanwhile, if you prefer to support your team by giving them heals and debuffing enemies then Mantis or Cloak and Dagger are great picks. Of course, it’s a lot easier to reach Lord if you just stick to playing on one character to level up your progression.
Regardless of your hero, the key to racking up your stats for the progression is to perfect your role in battle. This means you’ll have to understand when to initiate with your team, use your ultimate, or fall back to safety.
The Lord rankings and icons are there to prove your power, so the better you are at the game, the faster you’ll rank up.
