Marvel Rivals has a plethora of different game modes that players can jump into and here are the details for all of them.
Netease’s Marvel Rivals is overtaking Overwatch by bringing a roster of Marvel characters into a hero shooter setting. The 6v6 third-person shooter has a variety of activities for players to enjoy, and with seasonal updates and regular patches, there’s more content coming all the time.
All game modes
Below we’ve provided a rundown of all the modes you can enjoy in the Marvel hero shooter:
Domination
Both teams fight to control a single point of an area on a small map. The team that captures the point must successfully hold it until it reaches 100%.
Once a point has been captured, you will be taken to another small map and the objective will be repeated. The first team to capture 2 points wins.
The maps featured in Domination are:
- Royal Palace (Yggsgard)
- Birnin T’Challa (Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda)
- Hell’s Heaven (Hydra Charteris Base)

Convoy
Each team is randomly assigned offense or defense at the beginning of the match. The offense must escort a cart or moving object to the end of the map. The defending team must try to prevent the convoy from reaching its final destination.
The maps included in Convoy are:
- Yggdrasill Path (Yggsgard)
- Spider-Islands (Tokyo 2099)
- Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Convergence
Teams are randomly assigned offense or defense at the start. The offense must attack the first checkpoint on the map and secure it by standing inside the area. Defenders have to stop any attackers from reaching the area.
The offensive team will win if they can successfully capture three checkpoints before time runs out.
The maps featured in Convergence are as follows:
- Shin-Shibuya (Tokyo 2099)
- Hall of Djalia (Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda)
- Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface

Doom Match
In Doom Match, players will be assigned a different faction and battle to defeat players from the opposing faction.
At the end of the match, the top 50% of players will be awarded the win regardless of which faction they are assigned.
The maps featured in Doom Match are as follows:
- Sanctum Sanctorum
- Midtown: New York City

Conquest
Conquest is Marvel Rivals’ version of a team deathmatch. You can’t play it in quick play or competitive however, only manually choose it from the menu.
Players are split into two teams in Conquest and every kill is worth 50 points. Once a character has been defeated you can collect the points for your team. Either the first team to reach 50 points wins, or the highest-scoring team when the timer runs out takes the victory.
Conquest is currently only using the Tokyo 2099: Warped Ninomaru map.

Clash of Dancing Lions
As part of the January 22 patch that introduced the Spring Festival event, the new limited-time Clash of Dancing Lions mode was added to Marvel Rivals.
In this Rocket League-inspired activity, players can take control of Star-Lord, Iron Fist, or Black Widow and compete in a sports match in Wakanda’s World Area. You’ll have to get a small ball through the arena by either kicking, smashing, or kicking it to score goals. You can of course tackle your enemies to get the ball off them, and you’ll have to stay on your toes to avoid being tackled yourself.
