After a hot few weeks drawing millions of players to the new release, Marvel Rivals is keeping the hype train rolling throughout Season 1, but of course, many are already looking ahead to what’s next. Here’s what we know about Season 2 so far.

Launching in Season 0 back on December 6, Marvel Rivals gave players a taste of what to expect throughout 2025 and beyond, but it wasn’t until January 10, when Season 1 arrived, that we got the first proper content drop.

From a full-fledged Battle Pass to adding the entirety of the Fantastic Four to the roster, the Season 1 update was jam-packed full of new goodies.

Of course, as a live-service game, things aren’t slowing down anytime soon. Season 1 may only just be stepping into the spotlight, but already some fans are eager to know what’s on the horizon. With that said, here’s all you need to know about Marvel Rivals Season 2.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 release window

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is expected to arrive at some point in April, 2025. An exact release date is yet unclear, but developers previously advised fans an ordinary season would last roughly three months.

That brings April into focus and if we had to hedge our bets, early April is the most likely timeframe, though of course, we’ll keep you updated as further details emerge.

Season 2 content

While Season 1 introduced four new heroes, new maps, and modes, along with a wide range of cosmetics, devs have warned fans not to expect the same amount of content with each passing season.

In fact, devs have claimed Season 1 is a “giant-sized season” with “double the playable content of a regular season.” So set your expectations accordingly, with likely 1-2 new heroes incoming.

Season 1 saw the introduction of the Fantastic Four, but don’t expect that many new heroes again moving forward into Season 2.

As well as new additions to the roster, however, we can also expect the usual stream of goodies, ranging from a fresh Battle Pass to all-new game modes. Better yet, when it comes to seasonal Battle Passes, we already know they never expire. So even if you don’t finish the Season 1 pass in time, you can still pivot to Season 2, then go back when you’re ready.

Below is a quick rundown on what’s expected with each seasonal update in Marvel Rivals:

  • Season 2 Battle Pass
  • New heroes
  • New Team-up abilities
  • New maps
  • New modes
  • In-game events
  • Hero buffs and nerfs

All leaked heroes

Thus far, a total of 15 heroes for Marvel Rivals have been leaked ahead of their release. As you can imagine, some are much further along than others, with certain characters purely in the concept art phase, while others have in-game models ready to go.

Names like Deadpool, Professor X, Ultron, Blade, and many others have all spilled out online, with various leakers suggesting they’re in the pipeline.

Various new heroes are in the works for Marvel Rivals, but who will arrive as part of Season 2?

For the time being, there’s no quite telling which order they might be released in. Until we get a rough idea of the theme of Season 2, it’s anyone’s guess as to which heroes might join the roster.

Beyond leaks, we’ve also had an in-game Easter egg send fans into a tizzy, with many convinced Wong might be next in line for the Season 2 content drop.

Rest assured, we’ll keep you up to speed right here with all the latest details as they emerge.

Marvel Rivals roadmap

Marvel Rivals seasons “will last around every three months,” so if they stick to this schedule and there aren’t any delays, this will be the 2025 roadmap:

  • Season 1 – January 2025
  • Season 2 – April 2025
  • Season 3 – July 2025
  • Season 4 – October 2025
  • Season 5 – December 2025

As previously mentioned, Season 0 was shorter, and Season 1 is more jam-packed, so expect things to normalize from Season 2 onwards. We’ll need to wait and see what the devs have in store, but with a new season arriving every three months, we should end 2025 with Season 5.

In the meantime, you can check out the best characters in the game as well as the best controller and PC settings to lock in.
