21 Savage sat down with Shannon Sharpe and revealed that his American Dream film was only a “parody” and will not be released at this time.

21 Savage was interviewed by Shannon Sharpe and revealed that his American Dream film was just an idea and will not come to fruition production-wise.

Sharpe shared his thoughts on why 21 Savage should move forward with making American Dream into a film, as it would accurately represent his life as a migrant turned successful rapper.

Though 21 Savage doesn’t have plans to make the biopic, saying that it was only a “parody,” he just may take the advice into consideration.

Shannon Sharpe thinks 21 Savage is the perfect representation of the ‘American Dream’

When 21 Savage sat down to talk with Sharpe, he was asked, “Do you think your story is good enough to be a movie or documentary?”

Before he could answer, Sharpe explained why 21 Savage’s story would be worth a try in the film industry, “You hear about this all the time — people migrating to America, and you’re an American success story.”

Sharpe was referring to 21 Savage who moved from the UK to the US in 1999 when he was only seven years old.

Going on to be one of rap’s top artists, having just debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 14 songs from his American Dream album in Billboard Hot 100, it’s no wonder why Sharpe pressed the importance of getting his story out there.

Though his American Dream film, which featured 21 Savage throughout his life as depicted by Childish Gambino and Caleb McLaughlin, was only a “parody,” 21 Savage is keeping the door open to producing it in the future, saying to Sharpe, “I feel like it could be [a real film] one day.”

As for what’s next, anything is possible when it comes to 21 Savage, since his creative genius continues to cross borders between music and film.
