Youtube: Nerds CandyAddison Rae made an appearance in a brand new Nerds commercial teaser for the Super Bowl and was shown training an unknown star.
It’s a big deal to appear in a Super Bowl commercial. From Lil Nas X and Cardi B to Post Malone and Dolly Parton, every major artist has graced the Big Game in some fashion over the years. It’s almost a rite of passage.
With Usher slated to perform at this year’s event, companies and brands are already gearing up their promotional campaigns with star-studded skits and cryptic video teasers.
Joining the ranks of the greats, the TikToker turned pop star makes her official Super Bowl debut as part of the Nerds candy campaign leading up to the Super Bowl.
Addison Rae teams with Nerds for her first Super Bowl campaign
Addison Rae flaunts her sizzling dance moves in the first teaser for Nerds’ Super Bowl commercial, and it’s guaranteed to get the viewer hyped.
“Practice makes perfect…who is @addisonraee coaching?” captioned the official Nerds Instagram account. In the clip, Addison Rae is seen training someone off-camera, a mysterious “star” who made Rae super “nervous.”
“I was like, ‘Is this going to work out?’ But it all came together so amazingly,” she said in a statement. “[They’re] quite a star if you have to ask me. I’m excited for the final reveal.”
Rae chose to do the campaign because “not only is this one of my favorite candies since I was a little kid,— a tiny little girl eating my NERDS ropes— but this is also just such a huge, huge opportunity,” she continued. “I’m from Louisiana, from the South, so football is huge [there], and watching the Super Bowl is like an event in itself.”
A couple of commenters attempted to guess who the star could be. “Why do I feel like it’s Demarcus Lawrence,” wrote one user.
“Chris Daughtry from Season 5 of American Idol,” speculated another.
The final star reveal will reportedly take place during the Big Game when the official commercial premieres. It’s yet unclear if Addison Rae will make an appearance in the final product.
Super Bowl LVIII is slated for February 11, 2024.
