Ariana Grande threatens jail time to “crooks” over ‘Fantasize’ song leak
Twitter: zachsangshowAn unknown source leaked an Ariana Grande song on TikTok in 2023, and the singer finally addressed the incident in a new interview.
Ariana Grande previously recorded a song called ‘Fantasize,’ and it unfortunately found its way onto TikTok in 2023. Fans immediately flocked to the song, praising it for its ’90s throwback vibes.
However, it was never meant to see the light of day in this capacity. Even in 2024, the song still exists in various forms on the popular video-sharing platform.
In a brand-new interview, the pop singer finally addressed the leak. The interview clip began circulating on Twitter/X late on February 26. In it, she called out the “crooks” for essentially stealing the song from her and promised they would get their comeuppance.
Ariana Grande promises “thieves” will serve jail time over leaked song
Ariana Grande spoke with Zach Sang about her new album Eternal Sunshine recently on The Zach Sang Show, which originally aired on the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch. But the hot topic turned out to be a leaked song called ‘Fantasize’ that hit the internet in the summer of 2023.
Before the singer left to film Wicked, studio sessions found their way onto TikTok, and those included a clip of ‘Fantasize.’ “I’ll see you in jail, literally,” she said. “Fantasize’ was stolen… thieves! Pirates! Crooks! Illegal!”
“I’ll pay you more to get it back,” she added, laughing.
Grande also revealed that the song wasn’t hers. Instead, ‘Fantasize’ was meant for a TV show, “something that was not for me,” she said. “That song wasn’t for me. It was a parody of a ’90s girl-group vibe. But [fans] loved it!”
The singer then “took the note and gave [fans] Ariana’s version of that on the album. I would say that exists. Some of those seedling ideas from that time actually made their way onto the album.”
Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine arrives everywhere on March 8.
