It’s not the first time Taylor Swift has come under fire for her frequent flights to see her boyfriend play for the Kansas City Chiefs. However, the conversation restarts with news the singer sold a $40 million private jet but kept the much larger aircraft.
Reportedly, Swift sold her Dassault Falcon 900LX to a Missouri-based car insurance company called Car Shield. The Dassault Falcon 7X is still in her possession, as she’s been using the airplane for her Eras Tour.
The singer is expected to make the trip from Tokyo to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl LVIII, with many speculating her pollution discharges could be massive.

Below DailyMail’s exclusive story, many users put the superstar on blast, reminding others of her carbon footprint compared to the average American.
“She could fly coach and put her money where her mouth is and stop her massive carbon footprint,” wrote one user.
“The key phrase here is, ‘ONE of her private jets.’ This is exactly why your recycling strategy is useless,” lamented another. “Celebrities don’t care about the planet, they just want your adoration and money.”
Another chimed in, writing, “I don’t want to hear any more about my measly carbon footprint when people like Taylor fly all over the world then jet back for one night to see a football game.”
“Repeated pressurization events like flying to and from the football games take a toll on the airframe,” said as separate individual. “Even with her new jet, she’ll still have to stop and refuel from Japan.”
According to Carbon Credits, a new estimate indicates Swift’s flight from Tokyo to Las Vegas would cause 14 times the emissions of the average American. The report also states that a private jet typically emits two metric tons per hour per person. If Swift does make the trip, she would be flying 19,400 miles in under two weeks.
Taylor Swift isn’t the first and only celebrity to come under fire for their carbon footprint. Those include Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, and The Rolling Stones.
The latest controversy comes on the heels of the singer sending a cease and desist letter to a 22-year-old college student who has been collecting and sharing public data about her jet’s whereabouts. Reportedly, Swift has been in a constant state of worry and fearful for her life.
