Green Day and Jimmy Fallon took to an NYC Subway train to surprise the crowd with an impromptu performance of ‘American Idiot.’

Green Day is set to release their fourteenth studio album ‘Saviors’ on January 19, 2024, nearly four years after their last full release.

To promote their upcoming album, the legendary rockers performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon — but did it in a rather unique way.

Fallon and the band took to the NYC Subway to perform ‘American Idiot,’ and fans absolutely loved it.

Soon after their appearance on the show, videos of Green Day performing on the subway train made their way to TikTok and other social media platforms.

Fans were quite excited to share their first-hand experience, with one video garnering a million views in just hours.

In it, you can see Jimmy Fallon playing the tambourine while Green Day plays American Idiot to a packed train.

Users took to the comments to share their thoughts about the performance, with over 2,000 people doing so.

“I can’t come to work today.. green day is at my subway stop,” one user joked.
