Taylor Swift fans convinced Travis Kelce teased ‘Tortured Poets Department’
Wikimedia Commons, Paolo VTravis Kelce wore a color-coded shirt during a recent NFL event, and Taylor Swift fans are convinced it’s a Tortured Poets Department easter egg.
Leave it to Taylor Swift fans to find meaning in everyday things. But the blame also resides on Taylor Swift’s shoulders for hiding easter eggs in her social media posts and during in-person events. Sleuthing was always bound to happen.
With Swift’s new album, fans have already speculated who the project could be about, putting together various clues, interview bits, and a dating timeline to cook up a potential muse.
In their latest detective work, some Swifties believe Travis Kelce’s button-up shirt is intentionally color-coded to match Swift’s forthcoming The Tortured Poets Department.
Taylor Swift fans claim Travis Kelce’s shirt is an easter egg
While attending an NFL press conference, during which his brother Jason revealed his retirement, Travis Kelce was seen wearing a collared shirt blocked out in different shades of black and gray.
Taylor Swift fans quickly conjured up a theory that his shirt was actually a reference to Swift’s, The Tortured Poets Department — or TTPD, as fans call it online.
“He is wearing ttpd color palette omfg,” wrote one fan.
Another agreed, writing, “Not him wearing the TTPD colors.”
And again, another fan was quick to pick up the potential reference. “Me seeing Travis’ shirt and automatically thinking of the new #TTPD variants,” they wrote.
Many Swifties on TikTok also speculated that the shirt could very well be Taylor Swift’s way of promoting the album.
“Travis Kelce supporting Taylor’s new album the Tortured Poets Department matching color scheme and also wearing some friendship bracelets,” noted user JenLavLov13.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what pop’s biggest star has planned. Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Society arrives everywhere on April 19. The pop singer continues her Eras Tour with a stop in Singapore on March 7.
