Victor Wembanyama hype may have reached its apex after he dominated Chet Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder in a pivotal win on Thursday night.

NBA fans labeled the 2024 Rookie of the Year debate as being over after the San Antonio Spurs sensation set a one-of-a-kind record and sealed the victory in clutch fashion.

The Frenchman’s big night was the talk of social media. The basketball world was in awe of everything that transpired in the affair.

Wembanyama became the first player in league history to put up at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, five steals and five threes in a game, as the NBA shared on X.

The San Antonio Spurs sensation also dominated his main rookie rival and ended off their tense battle with an epic block that soon went viral.

The basketball world called for the league to give him the top rookie honor without hesitation.

The 2023 No. 1 overall pick showed off with a between-the-legs dunk in pregame warmups. That had fans wondering whether the 7-foot-5 center could’ve taken home this year’s Dunk Contest crown, per ClutchPoints.

If that wasn’t enough, Wembanyama took control of the public announcement microphone after his big win. He started a “Go Spurs go” chant that had over 18,000 in attendance at the Frost Bank Arena come alive.

Wembanyama started and ended the night with a bang. All that’s left to wonder is how much more he’ll do before the regular season concludes.
