While commenting on the NBA All-Star Weekend’s Slam Dunk Contest, Shannon Sharpe roasted Twitch streamer Kai Cenat’s surprise appearance.

For decades, players have gone to great lengths to shock Slam Dunk Contest judges and viewers. Who can forget Vince Carter’s arena-shaking reverse 360 dunk? Or the time Blake Griffin caught an alley-oop and jumped over a Kia?

This year’s All-Star Weekend featured similarly wild stunts from some of the world’s top athletes. For instance, NBA G Leaguer Mac McClung won the Dunk Contest after dunking over Shaq, who stands a staggering 7-foot-1-inches tall.

Boston Celtic Jaylen Brown turned heads, too, donning a Michael Jackson rhinestone glove while jumping over a seated Kai Cenat. Interestingly enough, NFL Hall of Famer and sports commentator Shannon Sharpe had plenty to say about Cenat’s involvement.

At Jaylen Brown’s request, Kai Cenat happily agreed to participate in the NBA player’s second dunk for the 2024 Dunk Contest. The stunt required the content creator to sit in a chair in the paint, while the Celtic guard jumped over him.

Everything went off without a hitch, but few were enthusiastic about the dunk. Shannon Sharpe seemed especially unimpressed based on comments he made during the February 19 episode of First Take with Stephen A. Smith.

“Aaron Gordon dunked over Tacko Fall. Mac McClung jumped over Shaq. Jaylen Brown jumped over Kai Cenat in a seat… they should’ve gave him a 2 across the board…” Sharpe went on to poke fun at Cenat’s height, calling him 3 feet tall, “…You put him in a chair, now he 1.5,” he added.

Notably, this isn’t the only roasting Kai Cenat received during All-Star Weekend. Though he played on the winning team (coached by Sharpe) for the Celebrity Game, his stats left much to be desired.

The streamer played for only a handful of minutes and put up four points. Viral Twitter posts have had a field day joking about his height and the fact that his teammates seldom passed him the ball, even when he was wide open.

Fortunately, Kai received a few more wins this past weekend, specifically taking home the Streamer of the Year prize during the 2024 Streamer Awards.
