Creative Overwatch theory makes bold predictions about Sojourn and Storm Rising mission

Overwatch’s 2019 Archives event Storm Rising is just around the corner and some fans have come up with a interesting theory about the new mission’s plot.

We know Storm Rising will take Tracer, Mercy, Genji and Winston to battle through the streets of Havana, Cuba, against Talon’s shadowy Maximilien.

A trailer released on Tuesday, April 15 revealed more details from the new mission, but we still don’t know exactly how things will go down.

Tracer somehow found a hoverbike in the latest Storm Rising trailer.

A traitor in Overwatch?

Several Overwatch fans have come up with some interesting ideas about how the Storm Rising mission could go down based on the teasers released so far.

One theory, from Reddit user ‘AwakePlace’ has to do with the mission’s taglines “Trust no one” and “Discover the Truth.”

“In today’s (April 15) teaser, Maximilien talks about how ‘Everyone you know […] can be bought and sold’ and how the price of loyalty is always changing,” AwakePlace wrote. “That led me to believe that somebody is going to betray Overwatch in this mission.”

If anyone’s going to betray Overwatch, AwakePlace thinks Sojourn, who was just introduced with teasers for Storm Rising, makes a likely candidate, since she doesn’t seem to be mentioned after the mission happens at all.

“The very first piece of content was her pitching the idea of this mission to Morrison, which I believe happened after she was bought off by Talon,” they theorized. “She said who she wanted in the mission (so that Talon could be prepared), and set the bait as Maximilien.”

Whether or not Sojourn betrays Overwatch, or even appears in the mission beyond the teaser at all, remains to be seen but it’s clear she’s involved in some capacity.

Overwatch’s Storm Rising Archives event starts on April 16 and players should make sure to save their free Arcade Loot Boxes this week until the beginning of the event.
