God of War’s Kratos transformed into Overwatch hero in epic crossover

One artist and Overwatch fan has brought Kratos, the star of the God of War series, into Overwatch and the result looks like he could give pre-nerf Brigitte a run for her money.

Paul Dubiard is the mastermind responsible for bringing Kratos to Overwatch, and said he was inspired by other artists designing characters in the game’s unique style.

“I’ve always been a fan of the universe of Overwatch and the specific graphic style,” Dubiard told Dexerto. “Several artists had already created some character from other games and brought them to Overwatch, so one day when I was playing God of War, I wondered to myself, why not Kratos?”

Overwatch Kratos looks awesome, and like he would fit right in battling his way around the Black Forest or especially in the ruins of Ilios.

While Dubiard said his favorite hero to play in Overwatch is Reinhardt, we’d have to put our money on Kratos coming into the game as a DPS hero, hopefully one that’s not overpowered beyond belief at first.

Kratos took between two or three weeks to create, Dubiard said, but based on how sick the final result looks, we would say it was time very well spent.

The artist seemed to think so as well, and said he already has plans to bring another character from a different license into Overwatch in the near future, and we’ll eagerly be waiting to see what he comes up with.

Kratos, more likely than not, will never make it into Overwatch, but we haven’t seen a new hero in the game for more than half a year at this point.

Sigma, the most recent Overwatch hero, was released in July of 2019 and since then we’ve seen no signs of a new hero on the horizon. At least we have awesome art from fans like Dubiard to tide us over until one finally arrives.
