McCree rises from the dead with his epic new skin for the Overwatch Halloween Terror event

Undead McCree is the latest Overwatch skin revealed as part of the upcoming Halloween Terror event.

The latest in-game event for Overwatch, this year’s edition of Halloween Terror is set to go live on October 9, and will run through to October 31.

As always, the new event will bring with it a host of new cosmetic items, with the new skins being the highlight of events for many players.

McCree is the sixth hero so far confirmed to be getting a new skin, with Spider Widowmaker, Enchanted Armor Pharah, Jack-o-Lantern Wrecking Ball, Swamp Monster Doomfist, and Banshee Moira also revealed.

The skin appears to be of Epic quality, changing the colors and decorations of McCree’s outfit but otherwise leaving the model unmodified, where Legendary skins tend to make more significant changes to a hero’s form.

In addition to the cosmetic additions, the Halloween Terror event will see the return of the Junkenstein’s Revenge Brawl. During a recent Developer Update, Jeff Kaplan stated that the mode would remain broadly the same as previous iterations.

It seems Deathmatch map Château Guillard is also in for some Halloween treatment, although the exact details remain a mystery. Blizzard posted a mysterious teaser, offering the following riddle in conjunction with a shot of the map:

“There’s a rumor among explorers
About a monolithic lair
Home to terrifying horrors
Heroes, how will you prepare?”
