Overwatch 2 players are excited to welcome the new Cowboy Bebop collab, but some couldn’t help but feel conflicted due to the game’s cosmetic prices.

The Overwatch 2 Cowboy Bebop collab trailer just dropped, and so far, the community seems mostly thrilled. Introducing Cassidy as Spike Spiegel, Ashe as Faye Valentine, Mauga as Jet Black, Wrecking Ball as Ein, and Sombra as Ed, the trailer was brought in a similar fashion as the original anime’s iconic opening, complete with Yoko Kanno’s “Tank!” theme song.

Aside from the stylized artwork of these characters, it also features some action-packed scenes showing more details on the skins, adding more to the hype.

This isn’t the first anime collab, though, as Overwatch 2 previously featured One Punch Man collab in the game, but the details on the Cowboy Bebop trailer alone seem so well-made that players are blown away.

In a Reddit thread showcasing the trailer, players were left in awe, praising the skins by claiming they’re “well designed” and “top tier.” Others agreed that this “tempting collab” is going to “make a s****load of money,” while some players considered going back to the game solely because of it.

That said, it goes without saying that cosmetic prices in Overwatch 2 haven’t always been player-friendly, at least according to some in the community.

Ultimately, while the community seems eager to welcome the collab, many couldn’t help but feel conflicted when it comes to buying the skins. And despite this being an issue, it sparked some interesting responses from some players.

“Dude, I’ve promised myself I would never spend money on cosmetics like.. ten years ago. I’ve held! But holy s***, this one is going to take some strength to hold,” one user mentioned.

“I will not give Blizard money, I will not give Blizzard money, I will not give Blizzard money. Holy s***, Spike’s gun is the swordfish,” another chimed in.

Meanwhile, one user went as far as writing: “I hate you Overwatch. Just when I swear off buying coins and giving Blizzard any more of my money you drop an absolute BANGER of a collab. It’s not a want; it’s a need. Mauga, holy s***. Didn’t even realize it was him until I saw the guns.”

The Overwatch 2 Cowboy Bebop collab is set to release on March 12, 2024. The exact pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but for those who are interested, this might be a good time to make use of those extra coins from the challenges.
