A recent leak suggested that Tracer may receive a health buff in the next season, leaving some Overwatch 2 players worried about her dominating the meta.

Overwatch‘s poster child, Tracer, has always been one of the most balanced heroes in the game. In the span of eight years since the first game was initially released, the highly mobile DPS hero has received minimal changes compared to others on the roster.

While her entire kit is mechanically demanding, it’s proven that she can become an absolute monster in the right hands. Looking at the early days of Overwatch, Tracer dominated the ranked ladder and the pro scene thanks to the dive meta.

Now that more heroes have been introduced to the game, her pick rate has dwindled considerably. However, according to a recent leak, it looks like that may not be the case anymore.

During a Twitch stream, Overwatch streamer ‘W_NTED‘ revealed that Tracer has 175 HP on the test server. Although this isn’t confirmed and is subject to change like any other balance patch leaks, players have already jumped in to share their thoughts regarding this controversial HP buff.

It all started on a Reddit thread that elaborated on how Cassidy would feel “worse” in Season 9, referring to the changes that were mentioned in the recent stream.

Following this, others in the comments quickly brought up the leaked Tracer health buff — something that will make the character even stronger as she can no longer be one-shotted by her hard counter Cassidy and other heroes.

One user replied, “Tracer with 175hp sounds like an uptime nightmare. Maybe it’ll work out by raising her floor and lowering her ceiling though, she is a hero that only works properly at high GM at the moment.”

Tracer’s leaked HP buff is worrisome to some players.

“I one trick Tracer but that is the worst decision ever,” another chimed in. Aside from all the players worrying, one person reminded others never to “take these cherry-picked info leaks too seriously.”

“Without proper context, we really don’t know what this change really means. Maybe they are making some big changes to the core gameplay in such a way that even a 175 HP Tracer might not be a big deal.”

With that in mind, it’s best to, as always, take this kind of information with a grain of salt. After all, whether or not this change will go live is still unknown.
