Overwatch 2 players have spotted a cheeky Easter egg in the new Rikimaru Ramen Bastion skin, referencing an old 2CP map.

With the release of Overwatch 2 Season 9’s trailer, the theme of the season’s Battle Pass was revealed, with all things having to do with Cosmic Horror. And with it, many skins to fit the theme.

However, many players immediately noticed there was one skin completely out of place that was revealed in the trailer. Ramen Bastion, or to be specific, Rikimaru Ramen Bastion, whose frankly goofy concept was in total contrast to the Lovecraftian nature of the Season.

Now with Season 9 underway, players are spotting a cheeky Easter egg in the new Bastion skin.

In a post on the Overwatch 2 subreddit, players pointed out that behind Ramen Bastion’s head, there’s a conspicuous QR code behind it.

Upon scanning it, it’s actually a link that Googles “RIKIMARURAMEN”. Perhaps for the newer Overwatch 2 players, Rikimaru Ramen might not be much of a reference.

However, for older Overwatch 1 players, who frequently played the 2CP map Hanamura, the ramen joint is most likely a sight for sore eyes as the store you pass by as the attackers on the first point.

“I love stupid little features like this in games,” a player said of the skin’s Easter egg.

It has been a while since we’ve seen 2CP in Overwatch’s map rotation, however, Clash, a new game mode set as yet another spiritual successor to 2CP is coming sometime this year. And even with another map set in Japan, this time named Hanaoka.

So perhaps Bastion’s new goofy Ramen skin may be teasing yet another appearance of Rikimaru Ramen in Hanaoka.
