Overwatch player’s dad goes viral after recreating every hero emote
Blizzard Entertainment/Nick LucianoOne Overwatch player’s dad has gone viral for recreating emotes for all of the game’s original heroes and has given us inspiration for a fantastic Reinhardt skin idea all at the same time.
Over the years the emotes of Overwatch heroes have been recreated and memed countless times, but you don’t often see the kind of dedication required to attempt one from each hero in a single go.
But, that’s just what one YouTuber Nick Luciano and his dad did in a video using various household items that’s once again making the rounds on Reddit, and we have to say that Reinhardt impression is still one of the best we’ve ever seen.
Masterfully replacing the rocket hammer for an electric weed wacker, Luciano’s father knocks it out of the park with moves that could have been the motion capture for the character himself, before realizing his neighbor was watching and trying to laugh it off with a casual “hey Carl!”
To be fair the clip at the top of the game’s subreddit is more than three years old at this point, but pops has been hard at work recreating all kinds of emotes and poses from various titles on YouTube since, Overwatch included.
What you won’t see in the Reddit post are the additional emotes performed by Luciano’s dad, released a year later. Who knew that all it took was a back pillow to make a perfect D.Va costume in just a few seconds?
Obviously, he’s not a professional YouTuber, so there’s no real regular upload schedule or any kind of consistency, but for this kind of great content, that’s just fine. He probably has dad stuff to do as well, such as mowing the lawn, and organizing various shelves in the garage.
With Overwatch 2 right on the horizon, and hopefully a new game’s worth of emotes coming along with it, Luciano and his pops will hopefully find the time to record even more hilarious imitations in the backyard.
