Overwatch players want to give Reaper a major rework

Overwatch has seen many heroes get major reworks over the last couple of years, but there’s one hero that players would like to see get some major changes next.

Reaper is one of Overwatch’s original heroes and he has remained largely untouched since the game launched in 2016.

While he started off as one of the more popular heroes due to his high DPS, mobility and just how cool he looks, he has slowly shifted out of the meta.

Reaper gets very little play in higher levels of play of Overwatch, which lends even more to the idea that he is in need of a rework to bring him back to relevance.

As Blizzard releases more heroes it buries him even further. It certainly doesn’t help that the current pro meta revolves around a three tank, three support setup.

Reaper might need a rework to become viable again in Overwatch.

In a post on Reddit by user RYTEDR, one player spoke up on some of the changes that might make Reaper more viable.

One suggestion was to give Reaper a smokescreen that his teammates could see through but enemies heroes would have their vision obstructed.

The post also brings up the idea of his shots having some sort of anti-heal mechanic that would make healing his targets more difficult.

There are numerous things Blizzard could do to ‘fix’ Reaper but it’s hard to argue with the fact that he’s certainly not in a good state in Overwatch.

Reaper’s Halloween skin is certainly one of the most cool looking in the entire game.

It’s a shame to see one of the coolest looking heroes in the game be downright useless at higher levels. If enough players express their concern it’ll be hard for Blizzard to ignore the outcry.

Even if Blizzard decides to ignore Reaper’s abilities, an easy way for him to improve would simply be to increase his base speed.

Who knows, maybe Reaper will find a home once the current meta shifts.
