Overwatch teaser all but confirms Sigma as Hero 31

Blizzard’s latest Overwatch teaser all but confirms Sigma, the long-rumored new character, will in fact be Hero 31 in the near future.

Another not so cryptic Overwatch teaser released on July 21 and this one leaves very little to the imagination.

The team at Blizzard have been dropping hints about the new hero and while fans have always had a hunch that Sigma would be the next one, this latest teaser practically confirms it.

Baptiste will no longer be the newest hero.

This teaser shows a nametag that says “Subject” and then has the Sigma symbol right next to it. If you’re not a math whiz then this could go over your head but if you recognize the symbol, then this pretty much confirms things.

With all these teasers, it looks like Hero 31 – or Sigma – is just right around the corner and it won’t be long until players can get their hands on him.

One thing that players don’t yet know is what abilities Sigma will have once he debuts.

Overwatch reveals a lot of lore about all of their characters so when Sigma receives an official announcement, we’ll be able to dive into just how he fits in with the other 30 heroes currently in the game.

Sigma has been a very poorly kept secret so his announcement should come as no surprise. On July 18, the Overwatch World Cup Team Mexico account tweeted their excitement for the announcement of role lock and leaked Sigma along the way.

The account released four screenshots and one of them featured Sigma as the most played Hero, indicating he was already in the game and being tested.

When Sigma is officially released, we’ll be among the first to let you know. Signs are pointing to his release some time before the end of the month so stay tuned for more information.
