Pink Mercy finally returns to Overwatch 2 alongside new Rose Gold Mercy skin
BlizzardOverwatch’s rare Pink Mercy skin is finally returning to OW2 along with a new Rose Gold Mercy skin to raise money for breast cancer research.
Back in 2018, Overwatch teamed up with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to unveil Pink Mercy – a special skin that players have been longing to see return.
In the years since, there have been many demands to bring it back, and from June 25 to July 8, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
On June 13, Blizzard and the BCRF revealed two skins coming. The first is the classic Pink Mercy skin from 2018 and the second is a new Rose Gold Mercy skin that comes with a slew of other cosmetics.
The original Pink Mercy will cost $15 while the Rose Gold Mercy bundle will sell for $20. All funds, minus applicable (blah) taxes, will be donated to support lifesaving breast cancer research.
In 2018, the original collaboration between Overwatch and BCRF resulted in $12.7M being raised, the largest donation ever made to the BCRF. Blizzard is excited to be supporting this cause once more.
“Blizzard is thrilled to be working alongside BCRF once again, bringing attention and funding
to such an important cause,” Blizzard President Johanna Faries said.
“Overwatch recently crossed the 100 million lifetime player milestone, and we hope that our amazing community will once again rally to help support the critical work of BCRF, all while showcasing these beautiful skins in-game.”
For the millions of fans who never had a chance to unlock Pink Mercy, this is their best chance. It’s not known if Blizzard and the BCRF will ever bring it back after this, and if they do, it could be another long six-year wait before this skin gets resurrected once more.
The news comes as the devs even teased some big buffs in the works for the support hero along with a “most-requested” improvements to the healer’s movement in Season 11.
