Overwatch 2 Roadhog recieves buffs days after rework launch

A ludicrous Overwatch 2 clip has risen to the top of Overwatch 2’s Reddit showing a Roadhog ultimate being negated by powerful supports.

Since the launch of Overwatch 2, the discussion of supports has often been at the forefront of the community. It’s hard to deny that, at various points, many of the supports in the game are very powerful and can even best DPS damage capabilities.

Of course, the development team has brought nerfs to the role to bring down their overall power, including major nerfs to the likes of Kiriko, Baptiste, Ana, and Illari. However, the meta often still bends around the role, particularly with those heroes.

They are not the only heroes to see changes either. Roadhog is coming off the back of a new rework that gave him a new ability to make him more viable in the Tank position. He’s certainly stronger than he was, and he is being picked more due to it.

However these two forces met starkly in a player clip, that will make any Hog main scream in disbelief.

Roadhog mains may want to avert their eyes

In the clip shared to Reddit by user Happy_Praline_8260, which has received over 1k upvotes at the time of writing, it shows a Roadhog using their Whole Hog ultimate, one of the highest damage ultimates in the game, to push a Soldier and Baptiste into a corner. In most situations both would be dead, but thanks to powerful abilities like Immortality Field and an Illari healing from the sidelines, both are able to escape unscathed and kill the Roadhog.

One player reacted by joking, “There are 3 roles in Overwatch: Tank, Damage, and Tank”, alluding to how hard it is to kill Supports.

Another joked, “You see Baptist is very deceiving he might look like a normal character but in reality, he has 3 health bars not one, his normal one, the burst, and the lamp and you need to kill all these for him to die.”

However, others highlight why Roadhog couldn’t secure the kills. “Your Kiriko tryna heal the enemies in the 3v1” said one Redditor pointing out that Kiriko is throwing healing papers at the enemy team.

Some have also blasted the Roadhog for not continuing to walk forward.  One person said: “Hog would have done more damage if he got closer… He would have gotten both the kills if he stepped forward”.

Regardless of how you feel about the clip or the Support role in general, it is a very stark example that shows healing and damage at their extreme. However, we know that this may not be long-term. In Season 9, Overwatch is getting a major rework to healing and damage. It will be interesting to see how this affects the flow and feel of the game going forward.
