Street Fighter V mod brings Overwatch heroes into the fray

Bill Cooney

A new mod for Street Fighter V allows players to reskin several fighters as Overwatch heroes, and the results look pretty fantastic.

We already have a Street Fighter-type mod in the Overwatch Workshop (thanks to DarwinStreams), that lets players battle it out with their favorite heroes.

Apparently modder THEJAMK has also been hard at work bringing Overwatch heroes into Street Fighter V as well with mods that reskin several heroes as their Overwatch counterparts.

Reinhardt makes the perfect Zangief

THEJAMK doesn’t just make Overwatch mods for Street Fighter V, but for Blizzard fans their definitely some of their coolest creations.

They even managed to match up Overwatch heroes with what we can consider their Street Fighter counterparts – like Soldier: 76 as US Air Force major Guile.

Over time THEJAMK has added a bunch of Overwatch heroes to Street Fighter and posted a number of videos showing the reskins on their YouTube channel.

THEJAMK’s skins look legit and the match ups really seem to fit each character’s abilities and personalities

We will say though that the Widowmaker Juri Han skin definitely gives us the creeps.

Here’s a list of all of THEJAMK’s Overwatch mods we could find:

  • Soldier: 76 as Guile
  • Reaper as M. Bison
  • Genji as Nash
  • Zarya as R. Mika
  • Symmetra as Chun Li
  • Roadhog as Birdie
  • Widowmaker as Juri Han
  • Sombra as Laura Matsuda
  • Mei as Kolin and Mika
  • Ashe also as Juri Han
  • D.Va as Karin Kanzuki
  • Akali as Ibuki (we know, Akali isn’t an Overwatch hero)

Overwatch insider Naeri was kind enough to share a video that shows all the above mods in action on Twitter and it’s definitely worth checking out, even if you don’t play Street Fighter.

Quit stalling, how do we get these?

THEJAMK has posted all of their Overwatch Street Fighter mods here for people to try completely free.

You may have to do a little searching to find the skin you want but entering the Overwatch heroes name you’re looking for should work just fine.

With the rate things are going, soon every game will just be Overwatch – if we’re lucky that is.
