Best Meals to cook first in Palworld
PocketpairCooking meals in Palworld is essential for players and Pals to get the most out of exploring the Palpagos Islands. Here are the best meals for beginner players to cook first.
Since its release, Palworld has taken gamers by storm. The cutesy survival game revolves around both capturing Pals, and crafting a defensible base that can produce all kinds of technology, from grappling guns to hot springs.
But players and their Pals can’t take on everything the Palpagos Islands have to offer on an empty stomach. As in many survival games, hunger is a key mechanic in Palworld. Players need food to keep exploring — climbing, sprinting, and swimming all take energy! Plus, letting Pals go hungry is detrimental to their work output on base.
Fortunately, there are some meals that can be cooked in Palworld with just a campfire and the right ingredients. Preparing these meals to take out exploring, or pop in a Pal feed box, can make a huge difference during early leveling.
Best Meals to Cook First in Palworld
To access the cooking menu in Palworld, players need to first build a campfire. It’s also worth building a feed box straight away for Pals who will be working at the base. A feed box can hold raw and cooked food, but remember, Pals will eat what you put in there when they’re hungry!
Interacting with the campfire will show a list of meals that can be cooked and their required ingredients. While some of these require materials from higher level Pals, there are meals that can be cooked with ingredients available from resources and Pals available right in the starting area.
Here are the best meals to cook first in Palworld.
Baked Berries
Ingredients: Red Berries x1
Where to find: Red Berries are plentiful on the Palpagos Islands. Players will find them growing on bushes throughout the grasslands and can pick them without any help from a Pal. Cooking the berries improves the return on the energy they give, so it’s always worth roasting a few.
One of the early base objectives also requires players to build a Red Berry Farm, so this is one ingredient players shouldn’t have too much trouble sourcing during early levels.
Baked Mushroom
Ingredients: Mushroom x1
Where to Find: Mushrooms can be foraged from the wilderness, just like Red Berries. The easiest spot to gather Mushrooms is near the Desolate Church Fast Travel point. Head toward the forests behind the old church to forage for Mushrooms. Baked Mushrooms only restore about 13 energy, so carrying a few is recommended.
Fried Egg
Ingredients: Egg x1
Where to Find: Eggs are often dropped by bird pals. In the early levels, Chikipi is the perfect source of eggs. A Chikipi can be assigned to the Ranch at the base, giving a convenient way to farm eggs. But they can also be gathered by killing wild Chikipi, or searching areas where wild Chikipi are located to find lone eggs in the wild.
Grilled Chikipi
Ingredients: Chikipi Poultry x1
Where to Find: Chikipi Poultry comes from exactly where it sounds like it comes from, killing Chikipi encountered in the wild. Chikipi are one of the weakest and most commonly encountered Pals in the starting zone, so they’re easy to find and harvest. As Chikipi drop both poultry and eggs, they make an excellent source of ingredients for cooking meals at low levels.
Lamball Kebab
Ingredients: Lamball Mutton x1
Where to Find: Lamball Mutton is found by slaying Lamballs. Much like Chikipi these Pals are prevalent in the starting areas. Lamball Mutton is one of the best starting meals for players, and restores 52 energy. It can be cooked at the campfire from level 2.
