One Palworld player noticed a Gumoss with a suspicious injury, leading them to question whether the Pal was actually scamming them.

Palworld has had a wildly impressive launch, already breaking records and becoming the most-played game on Steam.

The monster collecting action-RPG tasks players with catching and caring for Pals, which includes tending to their needs. Outside of simply feeding your Pals and making sure they have somewhere to sleep, Pals will sometimes have specific issues you’ll have to deal with, such as injuries.

However, some of the injuries don’t seem to make much sense for specific Pals, leading some players to wonder if they’re being scammed.

Palworld player suspects Gumoss is “scamming” them

As shared by Reddit user BuyMyBeans, their Gumoss claimed to have a “painful” looking broken bone.

This immediately raised suspicions, as Gumoss looks to be made of goo with leaves on its head. Its Paldeck info even says its body resembles tree sap, making it unlikely this little guy has any bones to sprain.

Many commenters agreed that the Gumoss’ alleged sprain was suspicious, with one going so far as to suggest the player “Explain to him that broken pals get sold to the shady merchant for meat” to see if the threat cleared up the injury.

Still, others questioned the working conditions at the player’s base. Of the 11 Pals there, at least three had serious conditions, with only one reporting they were satisfied.

In-game, this is likely just tied to the game’s conditions being applied to all Pals, regardless of their design. For example, you might get a notification that your Depresso has Depression, which shouldn’t really be a shock.

Regardless, those who suspect their Pal of scamming them have two main options: treat their Pal whether they need it or not, or turn them into meat.
