Palworld players mortified after learning Pals actually eat each other
PocketpairPalworld players can’t believe they’ve found proof that the usually adorable Pals will eat each other without prompting.
Many of the Pal creatures in Pocketpair’s popular survival game range from outright adorable to menacing. Others, however, have proven eerily creepy.
For example, the Paldeck entry for the squid-like Killamari Pal reveals this particular creature will suck out its victim’s innards and leave behind what are essentially mummies.
It would seem that’s not the worst of it, either. One player recently learned that Palworld’s Pokemon-like inhabitants engage in acts of cannibalism, even when being watched.
Yes, it appears Palworld Pals will eat each other
Reddit user Hippi3Chick couldn’t believe their eyes upon watching one Pal snack on another in the popular game. Of course, they needed proof of the act and, thus, recorded a 30-second video of a Tocotoco eating a fellow Palworld creature.
It’s quite an unsettling sight, as the colorful Dodo-like bird munches on its slowly dying victim who vanishes when all is said and done. The Redditor added in their caption, “the dazed innocent look afterward cracks me up!!!”
As many in the comments noted, this Reddit user isn’t the first to notice the disturbing habits of some Palworld Pals.
One person recalled seeing what they thought was a Direhowl mourning one of their brethren, only to realize something more sinister. The player explained, “I felt so bad because I thought a Direhowl was mourning the other one… I got up closer and it was just being a cannibal, so my sympathy vanished.”
Someone else shared an even more appalling tidbit about the Pals. Not only do they consume one another, “they eat every corpse, even humans.”
Others have expressed being impressed with Palworld’s attention to detail above all else. Reads a response from one such person, “I love that detail of this game, makes the pals feel more alive, like they really have an ecosystem.”
Another Redditor remarked that it also serves as a “clever way of handling despawns.”
Needless to say, some players won’t look at Pals the same after bearing witness to their eating habits.
