Palworld player hits major milestone in “impossible” no Pal challenge run
PocketpairOne player has amazed others by progressing through the game without catching a single Pal. Here’s how they pulled it off.
Palworld offers players the freedom to roam, catch Pals, explore dungeons, and many others on the game’s mysterious Palpagos island. Typically, players start off the game from zero, with nothing but a few common Pals and a small shed.
After some progress, eventually they can make their way to become a powerful character with legendary Pals and multiple resource farms. At least, that’s how the gameplay would generally look like for most players.
However, one player has decided to spice up their gameplay by giving themselves an “impossible” challenge of beating the game without catching a single Pal.
In a Reddit thread, the user showcased unlocking the Hillside Sovereign achievement in an image, with achievements relating to catching Pals left unlocked, suggesting that beating the first boss without catching a Pal is possible.
What’s more surprising is that the OP claimed they’re playing on the hard difficulty setting, which shows how much effort they’re putting into progressing through the game.
Many players were fascinated by the user’s dedication to the game. “You go dude! I really hope you are able to beat the whole game! (If it’s even possible lol),” praised one user.
Some replies in the comments shared advice on farming certain materials without the help of Pals, while others asked how they managed to pull it off.
“I was able to capture a green merchant that sells the Makeshift Handgun and farm chests in high-level areas to buy bullets,” the user wrote.
As seen from the comments, the user also explained that their grinding method solely relies on picking and cooking berries and buying new makeshift gear whenever their durability runs out. This is due to not being able to obtain Ingots used to craft advanced items, which requires having certain Pals.
Investing points into Attack and Stamina and crafting a glider to replace mounts also helped them navigate through the map.
As for the reason for this challenge, they claimed that they’re currently waiting for their partner to try out the game, hence the “super nerfed run” where they don’t get the “full game experience.”
One of the replies requested the OP to update their progress, to which they replied, “I’ll keep trying until I hit a hard wall. Seems like I have a LOT of grinding to do, but as a few others mentioned, I can farm ingots by killing Bushi, so that will be a huge improvement in the later game.”
