Canceled Pokemon TCG promo cards return as Pokemon League rewards
The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Day 2024 is just around the corner and Pokemon TCG fans can expect to see some incredible giveaways from Pokemon Leagues, including a few canceled promo cards.
Pokemon Day 2024 is approaching fast and the community is gearing up for a day of announcements and exciting events. Pokemon TCG fans in particular have a lot to look forward to, as there have been some brilliant Pokemon League giveaways revealed for the 27th of February.
If you’re unfamiliar, a Pokemon League is a casual competitive event that both video game and TCG players can attend. They’re often held at local game stores and they’re worth attending on this year’s Pokemon Day if you’re keen on getting exclusive cards and accessories.
Pokemon League giveaways announced for Pokemon Day 2024
One of the most exciting things to note about the Pokemon League giveaways on Pokemon Day 2024 is that there will be a wide variety of items up for grabs.
The specific method of obtaining these items will vary store to store but, generally speaking, most stores will give smaller items as participation prizes and larger items as rewards for winning matches.
There will be Pikachu Mood figures, Pokemon Go tins, PokeBall tins, stickers, Elite Trainer Boxes, and even exclusive dice.
The dice were shown off by The Pokemon Company in an official image for the upcoming event, alongside a Sleepy Pikachu statue.
Something else that fans can get their hands on this Pokemon Day is a variety of canceled promo cards that were meant to be released during the pandemic.
These cards were released in some locations, but they were never released in the US. The cards are from the Darkness Ablaze, Evolving Skies, and Rebel Clash sets, and they come with official Pokemon League stamps on the front. The Pokemon featured include:
- Coalossal
- Flapple
- Galarian Mr. Rime
- Pikachu
There will also be a Twin Energy promo card, too. These promo cards will have a Pokemon Day stamp on them and they’ll make great collector’s items, so it’s worth heading to your local game store and signing up for a match or two this Pokemon Day.
