Every Pokemon Go loading screen ever released
The Pokemon CompanyPokemon Go has included over 35 different loading screens featuring different artwork since launch. Here’s a breakdown of every loading screen and when it was released in the mobile game.
With each new Season of Pokemon Go comes a brand new loading screen that features gorgeous artwork that includes teasers of what’s to come.
For example, the 2017 Raid Battle season reflected the introduction of the major feature with artwork featuring trainers taking on a massive Tyranitar through a Raid Battle.
So trainers can look back on Pokemon Go’s history, let’s break down each and every loading screen released for Pokemon Go and provide some context behind it.
Pokemon Go: Every loading screen in reverse chronological order
38. World of Wonders
The loading screen for the World of Wonders season shows a variety of different Pokemon enjoying the falling leaves of a Cherry Blossom tree along with a Trainer. This art features Poipole, Turtwig, Flabebe, Venusaur, and many more.
Time frame: March 1, 2024 – Present
37. Timeless Travels
Timeless Travels included the debut of Drampa, which is prominently shown on the loading screen art. Fans can also see a group of trainers sitting under a snowy Japanese temple surrounded by the Hisuian Starters.
Timeless Travels also featured an alternate Loading Screen that included Fireworks in the night sky.
Time frame: December 1, 2023 – March 1, 2024.
36. Adventures Abound
The Adventures Abound loading screen featured a Fall landscape with several Pokemon from Generation 9, including Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Sprigatito. Trainers can also see Hisuian Growlithe and Arcanine in the background to the right.
Timed Frame: September 1, 2023 – December 1, 2023
35. Hidden Gems
For Hidden Gems, the trainer is featured in silhouette at the front and center. After cresting the rock face in front of them, they look out over a grassy landscape featuring Riolu, Axew, and Shroomish.
Time Frame: June 1, 2023 – September 1, 2023
34. Rising Heroes
The Rising Heroes loading screen shows a trainer triumphantly standing with several different Pokemon. Lucario, Growlithe, Steenee, Chansey, and Shiinotic surround them while Dragonite flies in the skies above.
Time Frame: March 1, 2023 – June 1, 2023
33. Mythical Wishes
In this loading screen art, a group of Pokemon look up at a shooting star—in theme with the Mythical Wishes season. The Pokemon featured include Eevee, Munchlax, Daruma, Bulbasaur, Beartic, and many more.
Time Frame: January 9, 2023 – March 1, 2023
32. Winter 2022
The Winter 2022 loading screen art features different Pokemon building a snowman with a trainer. Eevee, Pikachu, and Snorunt build the snowman’s body while Spheal sits in place of the head.

31. Season of Light
The Season of Light took place over the Halloween festivities, which the loading screen art reflects. A giant, eerie full moon illuminates a light sky while plenty of creepy Pokemon like Trevenant, Duskull, and Guzzlord loom around the frame.
Time Frame: September 1, 2022 – December 1, 2022
30. Season of GO
The Season of GO’s loading screen artwork shows a flowery meadow scene where the trainer is looking off into the horizon with other Pokemon. Fans can spot Snorlax, Tepig, Sawsbuck, and more surrounding the trainer.
Additionally, the Season of Go featured an alternate loading screen that temporarily displayed an Ultra Wormhole in the top right corner.

29. Season of Alola
As the name would suggest, the Season of Alola featured plenty of Pokemon from Generation 7. In line with the tropical region, this loading screen art features the trainer on the ocean shore with Pokemon like Alolan Exeggutor, Poplio, Alolan Raichu, and more.
Time Frame: February 28, 2022 – May 31, 2022
28. New Year 2022
The New Year 2022 loading screen art shows the trainer lounging with a group of Pokemon to enjoy a fireworks display in the night sky. Flabebe, Helioptile, Growlithe, and more are present in the scene.
Time Frame: December 31, 2021 – February 28, 2022
27. Winter 2021
Winter 2021 shows a group of Pokemon and the trainer exchanging gifts with one another. Beartic and Larvitar are holding presents while Chespin, Swinub, Cleffa, and Bergmite look on. Additionally, a Sunny Form Castform circles above.

26. Fall 2021
The Fall 2021 loading screen features a group of Pokemon sneaking up behind the trainer as they look at Pikachu. If you look closely, you can see Hoopa grinning on in the window to the right of the trainer.

25. Summer 2021
The Summer 2021 Pokemon Go loading screen features a group of Pokemon performing music on a makeshift stage. many of the Pokemon present were part of the Go Fest 2021 celebration.
An alternate version of this loading screen art features Hoopa in the sky.

24. Spring 2021
Pokemon Go’s Spring 2021 loading screen shows a group of Pokemon traversing some fallen, mossy logs over a coursing river. Xerneas looks on at the top of a cliff in the background while Pancham, Kricketune, and others travel upstream.
Time Frame: March 16, 2021 – June 1, 2021
23. New Year 2021
The New Year 2021 loading screen art shows the trainer exiting a cave with Pokemon like Litleo, Greninja, Fletchling, and Pikachu. The group looks at the sky as Ho-Oh is flying overhead.

22. Winter 2020
In the Winter 2020 loading screen, the Kalos Starter Pokemon are playing in the snow with other monsters, such as Mega Abomasnow, Furret, Obstagoon, and others.

21. Fall 2020
In keeping with the season, the Fall 2020 loading screen features several Dark and Ghost-type Pokemon in a Pumpkin patch. The central focus is a Mega Gengar perched on top of some hay bales.

20. Summer 2020
Summer 2020’s loading screen features a bunch of different Pokemon playing in an inground pool in a suburban backyard. Slugma and Braviary are perched on the roof above while Wailmer, Quagsire, and others play in the sun.

19. Spring 2020
Pokemon Go’s Spring 2020 loading screen shows a pine forest setting where a group of Pokemon are perched in the trees. Joltik, Seismitoad, and Togetic are seen above as the trainer looks up at them.

18. New Year 2020
The New Year 2020 art features a group of Pokemon following the trainer onto a snowy perch that overlooks a sea of clouds.

17. Winter 2019
Pokemon Go’s Winter 2019 loading screen once again features Pokemon playing in the snow. Piplup and Oshawott sled down on their bellies while Snorlax and company follow behind on a sled.

16. Fall 2019 (Team Go Rocket)
The loading screen during Fall 2019 featured Team Go Rocket and plenty of Shadow Pokemon. The trainers get ready to battle as they are surrounded by the Team Go Rocket leaders and Shadow Pokemon like Houndoom, Arcanine, and Scizor.

15. Summer 2019
The Summer 2019 seasonal loading screen featured the trainer sitting at a tide pool with Water-type Pokemon. Additionally, the Sinnoh Late Trio is seen flying around.

14. Spring 2019 (Go Snapshot)
The Spring 2019 loading screen alluded to the new Go Snapshot feature. In the artwork, the trainer is taking a picture of a group of Pokemon and another trainer as Smeargle photobombs from the right.

13. New Year 2019
The New Year 2019 loading screen shows a group of Pokemon and a trainer looking up at a fireworks display as a 2019 firework lights up the sky. It also serves as a follow-up to the early December 2018 loading screen.

12. Trainer Battles
This loading screen celebrated the introduction of Trainer Battles and showed two trainers battling with Electivire and Lucario.

11. Summer 2018
Pokemon Go’s Summer 2019 loading screen shows the trainer on a beach with a few Alolan Pokemon. Alolan Diglett, Alolan Dugtrio, and Alolan Exeggutor populate the image.

10. Research & Mew
The Spring 2018 loading screen showed Professor Willow as the most prominent feature and coincided with the debut of Research tasks. Trainers can see Mew flying in the sky in the background.

9. New Year 2018
The 2018 New Year’s loading screen shows many Hoenn Pokemon and others celebrating the turn of the new year. A large, illuminated 2018 sign is glowing in the background as confetti falls from above.

8. Holiday 2017
Pokemon Go’s Holiday 2018 loading screen showed more Hoenn Pokemon decorating a large Christmas Tree and playing around holiday gifts buried in the snow.

7. Halloween 2017
This loading screen showed a creepy Halloween-inspired landscape. A giant full moon illuminates a group of Ghost-type Pokemon standing on a hill as the trainer looks at the phone screen in a dark pumpkin patch.

6. Raid Battles
Perhaps one of the most recognizable Pokemon Go loading screens, the Raid Battle artwork shows the trainer and their Pokemon taking on a Tyranitar Raid Battle. As one might guess, this loading screen was implemented to showcase the debut of the Gym and Raid Battle system.

5. Spring 2017
The Spring 2021 loading screen featured a simple scene of a massive Steelix bursting out of the ground in front of a trainer.

4. New Year 2016
The New Year 2016 loading screen art was only in the game briefly but showed a group of Baby Pokemon enjoying a fireworks display with the trainer in the background.

3. Holiday 2016
The Holiday 2016 loading screen showed a group of Pokemon setting up Christmas lights. Pikachu is shown prominently in the foreground while Snorlax, Eevee, Squirtle, and Clefairy string the lights up.
An alternate version of this loading screen features the trainer silhouette in a different art style, and the artwork is missing the pink hue in the background.

2. Halloween 2016
The first Halloween loading screen in 2016 was much simpler than what came after. The Trainer stands in the foreground looking at their phone as a sinister Gengar peers at them from a spooky tree hollow.

Last but not least, the very first Pokemon Go loading screen was a simple bit of artwork that showed a trainer crossing a bridge while looking at their phone. Little do they know, a massive Gyarados looms before them. This loading screen was meant to tell trainers to be aware of their surroundings while playing the mobile game.
