How to get Foongus in Pokemon Go
Since its debut in the game in 2019, players have been able to get a Foongus through many different methods, and here are the ones that currently work:
- As a wild encounter.
- As a Shadow Pokemon from Team GO Rocket Grunt encounters (“Coiled and ready to strike!”)
- As a hatch from 2 km Eggs (during Sustainability Week only).
- As a reward for completing a Field Research Task from the Sustainability Week event.
The Sustainability Week event will run from Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM, until Friday, April 26, 2024, at 8:00 PM local time and it will feature plenty of Pokemon, including Foongus.
Previously, Foongus was a Tier 1 Raid Boss, hatched from 5 km and 7 km Eggs, and appeared as a reward from Field Research Tasks like “Catch 10 Grass-type Pokemon: Glittering Garden”, Special/Timed Research Tasks such as “Willow’s Return – Part 1” and even the “Ultra Incursion: Pheromosa” Collection Challenge.
How to evolve Foongus into Amoonguss in Pokemon Go
The evolution process for Foongus is quite straightforward, as it only has one stage and doesn’t need any special items, requirements, or Buddy tasks.
To evolve Foongus into its evolution, Amoonguss in Pokemon Go, you’ll need to feed it 50 Candies.
Players can take advantage of the event to gather the required Candy. Plus, it’s always useful to use Pinap Berries to duplicate the candies you get per catch.
Can Foongus be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Shiny collectors will be thrilled to discover that yes, Foongus can be Shiny in Pokemon Go and it will spawn more often during the Sustainability Week event.
This variation was introduced into Pokemon Go at the start of the Pokemon Go Fest Berlin in 2022, and instead of Foongus’ red top, you’ll see a purple color. It’s certainly a subtle change, so be sure to keep an eye out for it before you get rid of a Shiny without realizing it.
