How to get Heatran in Pokemon Go and can it be Shiny?
NIANTICSome Pokemon, like Legendaries, are quite hard to get in Pokemon Go as their appearances are tied to special events. If you’re trying to catch a Heatran, here’s exactly how to do so, and whether or not you’ll be able to encounter its Shiny version.
The Legendary Heatran was introduced to the franchise with Gen 4’s Sinnoh region alongside many other legendaries such as Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, Cresselia, and more. However, it wasn’t until the Holiday event back in 2018 that it made it to Pokemon Go, with its Shiny version appearing a year later.
Legendaries are a special type of Pokemon in the franchise, and as such, they are hard to get. In the mainline games, you only get one chance to weaken and capture them, while in Pokemon Go you get many chances but during a short period of time.
This time Heatran will be back for the many events happening in February. From Raid Battles to special Raid Hours, here’s how to catch Heatran in the game and whether or not you’ll be lucky enough to snatch its Shiny version.
How to get Heatran in Pokemon Go
There’s only one way you can get Heatran in Niantic’s game:
- As a Raid Boss
The game constantly features Legendary Raid Battles. These can last for an hour or even a week. This time, as Heatran comes back one more time, players will have plenty of chances to get their hands on one.
If you still don’t have a Heatran or are searching for one with perfect IVs, you’re in luck as it will be back as a 5-Star Raid Boss from February 22, 2024 until February 23, 2024 and then from February 26, 2024 until March 1, 2024. More so, it will be the center of two Raid Hours: one on February 22, 2024 and the second one on February 28, 2024.
Can Heatran be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Heatran’s Shiny version is available in the game and all of its appearances during February Raid Battles and Raid Hours will give players the possibility to encounter its Shiny version.
