Looking to find and catch Nincada in Pokemon Go or wondering how to evolve it into Ninjask and Shedninja? Well, here’s everything you need to know.

The humble Nincada is a rare Pokemon in Pokemon Go, making it even harder to add its evolutions, Ninjask and Shedinja, to your Pokedex.

The creature was originally introduced in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire and has been in Pokemon Go for a while, but it is very hard to find, and it’s not entirely obvious how to evolve it, either.

So, bag yourself a Nincada and learn how to evolve it now with our full guide:

How to find Nincada in Pokemon Go

While many Pokemon appear as part of the general overworld spawn pool, Nincada is treated differently, and its appearance is much rarer because of this.

At the time of writing, Nincada is appearing in One-Star Pokemon Go Raids, meaning players will need to venture out into the world and battle the Pokemon in raids for a chance to encounter and catch it.

Can Nincada be Shiny?

Yes, Shiny Nincada is available in Pokemon Go, and any players that encounter Nincada after a Raid have a slim chance to find a Shiny Nincada. As such, Shiny Ninjask is also available in Pokemon Go.

How to evolve Nincada into Ninjask

While Nincada can evolve into two separate Pokemon in the mainline Pokemon games, Pokemon Go does not follow the same mechanic. As such, Nincada can only evolve into Ninjask.

To evolve Nincada into Ninjask, players must amass and use 50 Nincada Candy, and use them on Nincada.

How to get Shedinja in Pokemon Go

Sadly, while in the mainline games, players can evolve Nincada into Ninjask and receive a Shedinja at the same time if they have a spare slot in their party, this mechanic does not work in Pokemon Go.

As such, there is no way to evolve Nincada into Shedinja in Pokemon Go, so Shedinja is treated as a separate Pokemon.

In exchange for completing one of Bug Out’s Collection Challenges, trainers will receive an encounter with Shedinja. This event runs from Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM until Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 8:00 PM local time.
