Shuckle is one of the strangest Pokemon in the mainline games, but how does it work in Pokemon Go, and can you catch its Shiny form?

Shuckle was introduced in Pokemon Gold & Silver, where the player could acquire one for free in Cianwood City. It’s a Bug/Rock-type Pokemon with an unusual gimmick that fans have tried to make work in competitive battles.

As Shuckle is in Pokemon Go, it’s working with a different gameplay style than the mainline games. So, how does one acquire this fragile fortress of a Pokemon in the mobile game?

How to get Shuckle in Pokemon Go

Shuckle will be part of Pokemon Go’s upcoming Bug Out 2024 event. This event runs from April 12, 2024, to April 17, 2024, and Shuckle will have an increased spawn rate during this time.

Outside of events, Shuckle has a chance of appearing in the wild, with a higher spawn rare during Partly cloudy and Rainy weather. It’s also possible to hatch Shuckle from various Pokemon Eggs.

Shuckle has also appeared as Tier 3 Raid Bosses and as a reward for completing Research Tasks. Shadow Shuckle has also been a reward for defeating Team Rocket Grunts in the past. This means there are plenty of ways to acquire a Shuckle in Pokemon Go.

Can Shuckle be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Shuckle can be Shiny in Pokemon Go. Players are more likely to encounter a Shiny Shuckle during the Bug Out 2024 event. Otherwise, it has the standard Shiny encounter rate in Pokemon Go.

In Pokemon Go, Shiny Shuckle has a bright blue shell, making it visually distinct from its standard red form, so you shouldn’t have any trouble telling the difference between the two.
