Pokemon Go Minccino Research Day: Minccino still available

Paul Cotton

Minccino has finally come to Pokemon Go and is available as part of the Lunar New Year 2020 event.

To celebrate the Year of the Rat, the Chinchilla Pokemon will be appearing in a special Limited Research event. The time period for this special event will indeed be limited, as it runs for three hours from February 2, 2pm to 5pm in your local time zone.

That research period has now concluded across all regions. But, Minccino is now available in 5km eggs and can be found in the wild. How frequently it will spawn though, remains to be seen.

Complete field research task to encounter

Pokemon Go players who have participated in the Limited Research events before – Feebas, Clamperl and Lotad – will know it’s very simple. Unlike special research tasks there is no stages of tasks you need to complete.

Instead, all you need is complete one the above field research tasks and you will encounter the normal-type Minccino. (If these tasks change this page will be updated.)

In addition to this if you’re lucky you may encounter its shiny form. The tasks are all basic when it comes to field research so you may as well complete as many as you can to try and find that shiny. If you’re after Cinccino then its not Minccino Candy you’ll need because you can get the Scarf Pokemon by using an Unova Stone on Minccino.
