Pokemon Go has announced a Research Day centered around Generation 1’s Grass/Poison-type, Oddish. Here’s everything trainers need to know about the event.

Pokemon Go’s Adventures Abound season is in full swing, bringing with it plenty of new content and events for fans to dive into.

Pokemon from Generation 9 have begun to make their way to the mobile game, with Scarlet & Violet’s starters as well as Pokemon like Pawmi and Frigibax on the horizon as well.

However, for those fans who have a fondness for older Pokemon — particularly Grass, Bug, and Poison types — Niantic has announced an Oddish Research Day is coming to the game. Here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming event.

Pokemon Go Oddish Research Day event date and times

According to the Pokemon Go blog, Searching for Gold Research Day will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2023, between 2 PM and 5 PM local time.

Here are the Pokemon that will spawn in the wild during the event:

  • Paras*
  • Venonat*
  • Bellsprout*
  • Shroomish*
  • Roselia*
  • Cacnea*
  • Foongus*
  • Bounsweet

Pokemon Go Oddish Research Day event bonuses and PokeStop Showcases

There will be a handful of bonuses in effect during this event, which are listed below:

  • 2x Stardust for catching Pokemon
  • Increased chance of finding XXS and XXL Oddish
  • Wild Oddish may be holding a Sun Stone
  • Increased chance of encountering a Shiny Oddish

Additionally, during this Research Day event, PokeStop Showcases may appear where trainers can enter Oddish, so be on the lookout while out exploring.
