As one particularly powerful Pocket Monster appears in Raids and Pokemon Go players flock to the streets to grab one, one trainer has been left shocked at a fatal error costing them their catch.

While Pokemon Go players pick up the mobile game for many different reasons, plenty of trainers out there play Pokemon Go in the hopes of catching a rare Legendary, and with a bit of luck, maybe even a Shiny Legendary.

One Pokemon that is always high up on the list for hunters is Landorus, as the creature’s stats and unique Ground/Flying-type combination make it a battle beast. It still pops up regularly in tournaments like the recent Pokemon VG Charlotte Regionals.

So, needless to say, most Pokemon Go players would be pretty annoyed if they missed the chance to catch a Shiny Landorus, but sadly that’s exactly what happened to one unlucky player.

Shiny Landorus escapes from Pokemon Go player

One Pokemon Go player has shared a post to Reddit, explaining their frustration at missing out on a Shiny Landorus. The user called No_Doubt7608 comments that the error is, “Honestly unbelievable” in their post.

In their original post, the Pokemon Go player details the issues, saying, “it was my first Therian Landorus raid and this happens. Tried catching it for 5 minutes and that just kept happening.”

Alongside the comment are images showing the Shiny Landorus appearing to be catchable in a standard encounter before it seems to disappear.

There are plenty of Pokemon Go players sharing their condolences in the comments, as well as advice on how to fix the issue should it occur again. One comment says, “Were you moving or in an area with bad GPS?”

Sadly, the original commenter replies, saying, “Nope sitting on my couch with a strong wifi signal.”

Another person backs up the claim, adding, “Happened to me years ago when shiny Heatran was released”, while another person comments saying “Happened to me too with Shiny Xerneas.”

While the issue itself seems to be rare, it’s compounded by Niantic changes to Remote Raid Passes and their cost. What was once a small loss is now a much bigger one, as Pokemon Go players can only do a total of five Remote Raids in a day. Hopefully, this person caught a Shiny soon after.
